M.J.Woodworking's Martin McCallion hands over SCM Superset 6 head moulder

  • Husband and wife team, Wesley and Olga Kittle, have built their reputation on hand finished craftsmanship and a great attention to detail.
  • With their carefully measured approach Wesley and Olga, when selecting a potential supplier, expect that supplier to meet the same exacting standards of excellence that they themselves adhere to in the running of their business. Such a progressive and innovative company that manufactures award winning kitchens can only afford to use the best available equipment in its manufacturing procedures if it is to maintain its position of esteem
  • When considering upgrading their four-sided planer, after a long process of evaluation and detailed assessment of potential suppliers, Wesley and Olga decided upon purchasing an SCM Superset Class Planer Moulder with electronic control.

Established in 1985, Kittle of Toye is a family run business located in the heart of County Down

  • The Superset Class 6-head Moulder with Control 20 electronic control for handling 4 axes - height, width and vertical movements of the left and right spindles. This is coupled with the SCM "Set Up" quick setting system, a patented, unique SCM system. This enables the machine to be set in only one movement. Just set the minimum diameter of the tool and the front, rear pressers and feed rollers are simultaneously adjusted automatically.
  • This system is the envy of all manufacturers of moulders worldwide but only available from SCM.Centralised colour coded greasing points so that the operator is not crawling around the machine looking for grease points only to find after a few months he has missed one and the machine could be potentially damaged. Many features are fitted as standard, such as rollers in the machine bed, lubrication pump for the table, lights inside the sound proof cabinet and a full set of tools and a measuring device to name but a few.
  • Service and support was one of the key points in the decision to purchase the SCM machine. MJ Woodworking Machinery, of County Antrim, is the first port of call for customers in Northern Ireland. In turn they are supported by the SCM Group, who have three full time service engineers based in Northern Ireland on call at any one time. In addition, two engineers are available from Ireland and a further thirty two are on call from SCM's base in Nottingham on the main land.
  • Martin McCallion of MJ Woodworking Machinery stated "Working with Kittle of Toye was a real pleasure because of their professional approach to the project. They knew exactly what they wanted to achieve, due to many years of experience processing solid wood and manufacturing complex mouldings. They were able to quickly understand and make decisions on the various options put before them before purchasing the SCM Superset."
